TCS targets US$ 10 billion revenue by 2010
Bangalore, May 31 (UNI) Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS), country's first billion-dollar company, aimed to achieve US Dollar 10 billion revenue by 2010 from US Dollar 4.29 billion now, TCSL CFO and Global Head (Finance) S Mahalingam said today.
Speaking at CII-Exim Bank Award for Business Excellence Winners Conference here, he said Indian IT industry was a shining star and there was greater potential that need to be tapped and in this direction TCS was making efforts to more than double its revenue to emerge within top 10 among the global IT companies in terms of revenue earnings from the current ranking of 11.
He said the globalisation and IT invention has led to the creation of more opportunities in technology development. TCS was working towards innovation in all dimensions for achieving global leadership, it may be in Business model, service or delivery innovations.
Mr Mahalingam said a Research Advisory Board had been set up to initiate steps to improve the performance of the company. During the last four years the company had been maintaining continuous growth, he added.
He said the company need to add 35,000 more staff to the present strength of 89,000 to achieve the vision of being in the global top 10 by 2010.
TCS bagged CII-Exim Bank Award for Business Excellence for the year 2006.
