One more EcoTourim resort to come up in Chamarajanagara District

Mysore, May 31 (UNI) After success of its flagship EcoTourism project at Cicada Kabini, near Nagarahole National Park, Wilderness Resorts Private Limited, will be opening another Wildlife Holiday resort near Bandipur National Park, near here.

Karnataka Minister for Kannada and Culture H S Mahadeva Prasad laid foundation stone for construction of the Resort on 36 acre of land near Kanniyanapura village in the Chamarajanagara District today.

The project has been cleared by the Central Empowered Committee (CEC), New Delhi which was established following orders from the Supreme Court to look at the Forest, Wildlife and Conservation issues.

The company CEO Tiger Ramesh said that the project, to be taken up at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore, would be completed within next 10 months. This project would demonstrate its commitment towards Ecotourism through Forest Conservation and local community development strategies. It was proposed to open two EcoTourism Resorts in North Karnataka, he added.

Mr Ramesh said that future plans of the company included spreading wings by opening such Resorts in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarath and Uttaranchal States during next year.
