NSUI organises anti-tobacco rally
Hyderabad, May 31 (UNI) Observing ''Anti-Tobacco Day'', the National Students Union of India (NSUI) organised a massive anti-tobacco rally here today.
According to a press release NSUI activists cremated a 10-feet-long cigar to mark the occasion.
Andhra Pradesh NSUI unit President Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy said ''it is alarming to know that ten million students were addicted to tobacco in the country. This is mainly due to market expansion strategies of cigarette manufacturers.'' Urging the government agencies and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) to join hands to make a tobacco-free society, he said ''the NSUI was strongly against increasing exhibition of consumption of tobacco in movies.''
