Surat, May 31 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said the Congress and its chief Sonia Gandhi were unnecessarily criticising his Government.

Mr Modi was speaking at the inaugural function for commissioning of the 128-kilometer Surat-Vapi gas pipeline project of the Gujarat State Petronet Limited at Vapi in South Gujarat today.

''Recently the Congress-led government in Maharashtra launched an attack on the Gujarat Government alleging that it had blocked gas supply to the Dabhol power project,'' Mr Modi said.

''This is far from the truth. In fact, it is the Congress which is responsible for the Dabhol imbroglio that was started some 10 years back,'' Mr Modi countered.

He also accused the Centre for not taking seriously the Pipav LNG supply project which was a dream of Rajiv Gandhi.

''Before criticising the Gujarat Government, Sonia Gandhi should think why Rajiv Gandhi's dream project has still remained uncompleted, Mr Modi said. Sonia Gandhi should answer this when she next visits Gujarat,'' he added.

The saffron leader Mr Modi said Gujarat believes in ''Sarvahitkari (good for all) policy and is, therefore, willing to provide the power produced from the Sardar Sarovar project to any other state.
