All party meet appeals Gujjars to shun violence restore peace
Jaipur, May 31 (UNI) All political parties, including ruling BJP and principal opposition party Congress, today made a joint appeal to agitating Gujjar community to shun violence and actively work for restoration of peace and harmony in the state.
An all party meeting held here this evening under the leadership of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje adopted unanimous resolution appealing to all for strengthening peace in the state.
The resolution observed that peace, harmony and spirits of communal brotherhood were the long time tradition of Rajasthan and all sections of society were expected to uphold this tradition of the state.
The all party meeting felt that the people of state were facing a lot of trauma due to wide-spread violence in the Gujjar agitation during the past three days.
Besides the chief minister, BJP state president Dr Mahesh Sharma, BJP national trasurer Ramdas Agrawal, Congress state president Dr B D Kalla, Leader of the opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Ram Narain Chaudhary, Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore attended the meeting. Samajwadi Party state president Pundit Ram Kishan, CPI state secretary Dushyant Oza, CPI leader Tara Singh Sidhu, CPI(M) MLA Amara Ram, BSP state president Dungar Ram, BSP MLA Murari Meena and Indian National Lok Dal leader Vijay Bansal also participated in the meeting.
