Haryana considers widening of ESI Health Care Scheme
Chandigarh, May 30 (UNI) The Haryana government is considering to bring the employees of the private schools, nursing homes and brick kilns also in the ambit of the Employees State Insurance (ESI) Health Care Scheme for providing them quality health services.
Stating this, Haryana Parliamentary Secretary Sharda Rathore said the recently constituted Directorate of Employees State Insurance Health Care had also decided to construct a 200-bed hospital at Gurgaon at a cost of Rs 22 crore to cater to the needs of the industrial employees.
She said a 50-bed hospital would also be opened at Manesar for which a piece of land measuring 2.75 acre had already been purchased from HSIDC at a cost of Rs five crore.
The Parliamentary Secretary assured that the vacant posts of doctors and other para-medical staff would also be filled up.
She said under the scheme those institutions having more than ten employees would also be covered.
The main aim of setting up of a new directorate was to provide better health care facilities to the labourers.
Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Labour) Manik Sonawane said a survey was being conducted by the Labour Department to identify the areas and to take corrective measures to provide better health care facilities.
