Panaji, May 30 (UNI) Former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj has claimed that the BJP will secure an absolute majority in Goa as the ''days of fractured mandate in the country are over''.

''People are fed up with horse trading and fractured mandates and are now more inclined to elect a government with an absolute majority as seen UP, Bihar, Punjab and Delhi Corporation elections.

This would repeat in Goa too,'' Ms Swaraj told newspersons here today.

Ms Swaraj, who was on a whirlwind tour of Goa since the last two days, expressed confidence that Goan electorate would give an absolute majority to the BJP ''which had provided a model and ideal government during its 52-month rule under Manohar Parrikar''.

''There is no question of a fractured mandate and the question of seeking the help of regional parties does not arise,'' she said, adding that if the BJP failed to secure a majority, it would opt to remaining in the Opposition. ''But the if will not arise.'' She lashed out at the Congress for launching an ''hate-BJP'' campaign among the minorities. The Congress will not succeed in its designs, she said.

Ms Swaraj emphasised that the Parrikar Government had not launched even a single anti-minorities programme or scheme. The BJP, she said, had served the people of Goa without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or religion, and would contiue to do so when it formed the government again soon.

Ms Swaraj said inflation was a major issue that needed to be tackled and the BJP, in its manifesto, had promised to provide ration subsidy to check inflation. ''Such a scheme does not exist anywhere else in the country,'' she said.
