Primary students demand reinstatement of two sacked teachers

Kishanganj, May 29 (UNI) About 80 students of Salkia Primary School today demonstrated before the Collectorate office here to protest alleged withdrawal of their two teachers, Sangeeta Chowdhury and Savita Chowdhury, and demanded their immediate reinstatement.

The students had called on District Magistrate M Saravanan and threatened to leave the school if the teachers were not reinstated immediately. The DM then referred the case to District Superintendent of Education (DSE) Jagatpati Chowdhury.

The DSE, talking to newspersons here today, however, justified their removal from the school adding that the certificates of the teachers were under the scanner at the moment.

The DSE alleged that the students' protest was in fact engineered by the offending teachers.
