Gandhinagar, May 29 (UNI) Former BJP minister in Gujarat Nalin Bhatt today criticised the government for allegedly failing to take action against anti-national and communal elements in Vadodara.

In his letter to Gujarat Governor Naval Kishor Sharma, Mr Bhatt said, ''On May 25, thousands of Muslims from a mosque in Mandavi area of Vadodara stormed the streets carrying Osama Bin Laden's posters. Despite clamping of article 144, the crowd laid seige to police commissioner's office and pelted stones on media personnel who were there to cover the incidents.'' The letter said ''The crowd went on rampage against the alleged obscene portrayal of Prophet Mohammed. The police commissioner dubbed the whole incident as pre-planned conspiracy. And if the commissioner knew about the conspiracy then why no action was taken?'' demanded Bhatt, alleging that at the time of stone-pelting the police commissioner along with policemen were mute spectators.

Mr Bhatt urged the governor to intervene and take action agianst erring police personnel.
