MRD allocates funds to Meghalaya under SGRY, ARWSP
Shillong, May 29 (UNI) The Ministry of Rural Development has released an amount of Rs 308.36 lakh as third additional instalment of Central assistance for the year 2006-07 to three districts in Meghalaya, namely East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi district, for implementation of SGRY.
An amount of Rs 62.72 lakh has also been released as part of first instalment, out of the allocation of Rs 376.30 lakh to West Khasi Hills as Central aid for implementation of the SGRY during the current year 2007-08.
Besides, the Ministry of Rural Development has released an amount of Rs 741.03 lakh to the State Government towards part of first instalment of funds against the provisional allocation of Rs 4,446 lakh under the Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme(Normal) during 2007-08.
This release is being made for extension/completion of schemes to provide safe drinking water facilities to rural habitations and schools under the Centrally sponsored ARWSP.
