Five killed in police firing, violence in Rajasthan

Jaipur, May 29 (UNI) At least five people were killed and several injured in police firing on agitating members of the Gurjar community, staging demonstrations and chakka jams in different parts of the state to press for their inclusion in the Scheduled Tribes category.

While two people were killed in police firing in Bala Kheda village of Dausa district, two deaths were reported from Potali village of Karauli district, official sources said.

One person was killed in police firing in Bundi and nearly a dozen were injured, the sources said.

Two police personnel were also reported missing in Patoli, Karauli Superintendent of Police told UNI over telephone.

Howver, unofficial sources said six persons, including two policemen, were killed in Patoli and four people died in Bundi.
