Cong govts in Mah, Goa should go: Joshi

Panaji, May 29 (UNI) Senior Shiv Sena leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi today said the party's main strategy behind contesting in Goa was to test Sena's strength and gauge people's mind about it.

Mr Joshi, who was here to campaign for Sena candidates for the June 2 Assembly elections, said the party will put up a good show this time unlike the past where it had contested 14 seats and not received success as expected.

''This time we are contesting in seven constituencies and the outcome will only show whether the people of Goa like Shiv Sena or not,'' Mr Joshi said.

He said Congress should not be voted to power anywhere in the country as it had not done anything for the people. ''Congress governments in both Goa and Maharashtra should go,'' he said.

Mr Joshi said Shiv Sena has good relations with BJP and it will be maintained. ''We are contesting in Goa not to split BJP votes'', he insisted but added that the Sena would never tie-up with Congress.

He said Marathi should be the official language of Goa and be at par with Konkani.
