Cong condemns police firing on Gujjar community in Rajasthan

New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) The Congress today condemned the police firing on the Gujjar community in Dausa and Bundi in Rajasthan in which as many as 14 people were killed.

''The party has decided to send a three-member delegation to the affected areas of the State to study the situation that led to the police action and the violence,'' Congress Spokesman Satyavrat Chaturvedi said.

The delegation will leave here tomorrow morning and return by the evening to submit its report to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Mr Chaturvedi added.

The delegation would consist of Mr Satyavrat Chaturvedi, Mrs Krishna Tirath and Mr K C Lanka.

Mr Chaturvedi condemned the police firing and said the incident showed that the Vasundhara Raje Government in the state was bent on throttling the democracy.
