ND: Class 10 pass percentage 84.44, girls outshine
New Delhi, May 29: The CBSE tenth class examination results this year registered an overall pass percentage of 84.44 per cent, an whopping increase 7.28 per cent from last year, with girls yet again outshining boys.
Announcing the results, CBSE Chairman Ashok Ganguly said the overall pass percentage for girls was 84.72 per cent while the boys lagged behind at 84.24 per cent.
''The girls have done exceptionally well this year also... as was the case with class 12 examinations,'' he added.
Last year the pass percentage for the class 10 examinations was 77.16 per cent.
More than 7,05,152 pupils, including 4,12,455 boys, appeared for the tenth class examinations, which was held from March 2 to 28.
The figure for tenth class had also recorded an increase of 8.11 per cent from last year when 6,47,992 students appeared.
In the Delhi region, 2,07,317 had registered for the class ten examination.
