MP: 'Vindhya region to be free of dacoits' terror'

Satna (MP), May 28: Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Home Nagendra Singh today said the state's Vindhya region would be soon made free from dacoits.

Mr Singh, while inaugurating a road constructed under the Employment Guarantee Scheme at Badhauv village in Nagaud division here yesterday, claimed that the Gwalior-Chambal division had become free from terror of dacoits following the elimination of several notorious bandits.

He promised that Rewa, Satna and Panna districts of Vindhya region would be made free from the terror of dacoits.

In this region, gangs of dacoits Shivkumar Kurmi alias Dadua, Ambika Prasad Patel alias Thokia, Khadak Singh and Pappu Yadav are active.

The Uttar Pradesh Government and the Madhya Pradesh Government had announced a reward of Rs two lakh and Rs 50,000 on the arrest of Dadua and Thokia respectively.
