Tiruchirapalli, May 28: Interlinking of rivers and implementation of reservation for backward classes are his two main priorities, DMK leader and nominee for Rajya Sabha polls Trichy N Siva said.

Talking to UNI over phone from Chennai, the 52-year-old leader said, ''As my leader (party President M Karunanidhi) has emphasised, interlinking of rivers and reservation for BCs are my prime duties.'' Elated by his selection to contest the Rajya Sabha polls, the veteran Parliamentarian said, ''I should fulfill the expectations of my leader Karunanidhi and the people and I realise that. My leader has entrusted me with a big responsibility of being a member of the Upper House.'' A rousing reception is awaiting Mr Siva, who had served as a Rajya Sabha MP from January 2000 to April 2002 after being elected in a by-election, from DMK cadres when he returns here tomorrow.
