TN registers higher pass percentage of 98.23 per cent

Chennai, May 28 (UNI) The pass percentage in Tamil Nadu increased considerably from 94.79 to 98.23 in the tenth standard CBSE results which were announced today.

Out of the 13,592 students who had appeared for the examinations in the state, 13,253 had passed. Among the boys out of the 7,550 students, 7382 passed out, while 5871 girls, out of 5992 who sat for the examinations, cleared it.

The overall pass percentage in Chennai region comprising Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puduhcuerry, Karnatka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Daman and Diu and Andaman and Nicobar, was 93.47 as against last year's 89.43.

The pass percentage was 93.32 per cent with girls faring marginally higher at 93.66 per cent.
