Sonia to address election meeting in South Goa tomorrow

Mumbai, May 28 (UNI) As the assembly election campaign in the coastal state enters its last leg, UPA chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will address a election meeting at Margao in South Goa tomorrow.

This will be her second meeting since she has already held a public meeting in Panaji to beef up support for party candidates in North Goa. Union Civil Aviation Minister and NCP leader Praful Patel will also participate in the election rally.

Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar is arriving here on May 30 and will address three meetings, Maharashtra NCP general secretary Gurunath Kulkarni, who is supervising his party's candidates campaign, told reporters here today.

AICC general secretary Margaret Alva said the party expects a huge turnout at Mrs Gandhi's rally in Margao tomorrow and hoped that rains, which lashed several parts of the state yesterday, will not play spoilsport.
