Jaipur, May 28: Elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of the proposed Gurjar community's stir from tomorrow in the state demanding their inclusion in the ST list.

Home minister Gulab Chand Kataria said at least 100 companies of police have been deployed in five districts including Jaipur, Ajmer, Dausa, Tonk and Karauli. Prohibitory orders are already in force in these five districts from today. The deployed forces include companies of Central Reserve Police Force, and units from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

Additional director general of police (Law and Order) said the police units have been deployed on highways and in those places where there are chances of Gurjars getting together.

He said the Inspector General and the Deputy Inspector General and senior police officers are already in these five districts to monitor the situation.

It may be recalled that Gurjar community had threatened 'chakka jam' on highways on May 29 demanding their inclusion in the ST list.

However, after a meeting with Mr Kataria late last night, Rajasthan Gurjar Mahasabha have decided to postpone their agitation till May 31 while Gurjar Sangharsh Samiti have resolved to begin their stir as per schedule tomorrow.
