Monsoon hits Kerala, six dead in weather-related incidents

New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) The much-anticipated south-west monsoon hit Kerala's southern coast four days ahead of schedule, bringing widespread rainfall in the state, while at least six people were killed in weather-related incidents across the country.

Four farmers died on the spot and two others injured in a cloudburst at the famed tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir.

Reports said the farmers were working in paddy fields at Sofipora in Pahalgam area when the cloud burst in the evening.

A woman and a boy were killed and four injured after a house collapsed following a squall in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen district.

The injured were hospitalised at Begumganj. Hail was recorded in some areas adjoining Raisen, sources said.
