Jaipur, May 28 (UNI) Expressing satisfaction over the ''decline in anti-Indian activities from Pakistan's soil'' in recent years, Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said peace was showing signs of a return in Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to newspersons here today, Mr Jaiswal said, ''the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has showed qualitative changes during the past four to six years with infiltratation from the neighbouring country and violence declining and tourism and other activities getting a boost''.

He said last year, the state witnessed record turnout of tourists and pilgrims and hotel bookings and other indicators suggested that this year also, tourist inflow would touch new heights in the state also known as '' heaven on earth''.

The minister said he did not want to claim that the situation in the state had returned to normalcy or would soon return, but wanted to simply convey the positive change emerging in the border state.

He added that the joint efforts being taken by the Centre and the state government had succeeded in boosting the confidence of the local people.
