HC gives time to CBI till July 31 in Sacha Sauda case
Chandigarh, May 28 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed the CBI to submit its final report on or before July 31 about its investigation into the cases pertaining to Sacha Sauda which were entrusted to it over three years back.
This order was passed by a Division Bench of Justice A K Goel and Justice M M S Bedi after CBI standing counsel Rajan Gupta apprised that field investigation had been completed by the agency and evaluation of evidence was progress.
The counsel also submitted monthly status report about the investigation as had been directed by the court at the pevious hearing. The matter would now come up on August 1.
The cases pertain to two murder cases and a case pertaining to sexual harassement of a woman follower of the Dera. The murder cases include that of journalist Ram Chander Chattarpati.
