Asom: Gov summons top police officials

Guwahati, May 28: Asom Governor Lt Gen(Retd) Ajay Sinha today reviewed the law and order situation of Guwahati city following Saturday's bomb blast which left seven dead.

According to the Rajbhawan sources, the governor summoned Home Commissioner Rajiv Bora, DGP R N Mathur, IGP(SB) Khagen Sharma, Deputy Commisisoner(Metro) Avinash Joshi and SSP, Guwahati City, S N Singh.

The closed-door meeting lasted for more than an hour. According to the sources, the governor was deeply concerned about Saturday's blast and also the series of explosions that rocked the city in the past two months.

''The Governor has asked the police authorities to bring the security level to the National Games standard when militants could not do any damage to the Guwahati city,'' the sources said.
