Engage in soul-searching, not mud-slinging: Cong to TDP
Hyderabad, May 28 (UNI) Four Andhra Pradesh Ministers today sarcastically advised the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to use the ongoing ''Mahanadu'' in the temple town of Tirupati for ''soul-searching'' on its debacle in the 2004 assembly elections instead of spewing venom on the ruling Congress government.
Talking to mediapersons in the chambers of Information and Public Relations minister Anam Rama Narayana Reddy, the ministers said TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu was trying to convince his partymen that the TDP would return to power in two years, only to keep his flock together.
The Ministers Anam Rama Narayana, Animal Husbandry Minister Mandali Budha Prasad, Housing Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and Rural Development Minister G Chinna Reddy said the TDP would have done better if it concentrated on strengthening the party to face the next elections, instead of indulging in mud-slinging.
Referring to the TDP Chief comapring Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to Tatas and Birlas, the Information Minister said though malicious, the comparison was in a way, correct as Dr Reddy was striving for rapid industrial development of the state like them.
