K'taka: Cong alleges collapse of administration
Bangalore, May 28: Opposition leader in the Karnataka Legislative Council H K Patil today alleged that due to lackluster attitude in attending to the office works by the JD(S)-BJP coalition government Ministers a whopping 141,000 files are pending.
Speaking to newsmen here, he said that of the total number of files waiting for Minister's intervention, 50 per cent were pending since last 12 months.
Mr Patil alleged that the Ministers, including Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, were rarely visiting their offices and clearing the files thus resulting in slow pace of administration and hitting the development of the state. Over 18,000 files pertaining to various department coming under direct control of the Chief Minister gathering dust, he alleged.
Referring to the problems faced by the Sugar cane growers in the State, Mr Patil said that the Chief Minister had convened the meeting of all stakeholders of the Sugar industry including growers and Sugar Factories to find a solution. "Even after two months the decisions taken at the meeting remained on paper". The instructions of the Chief Minister on the matter was yet to become orders of the state government," he added.
Alleging that holding Common Entrance Test (CET) for admissions into PG Medical course would affect rural students, Mr Patil urged the State Government to take a firm stand on the issue.
