YPS Patiala wins opening match in Hot Weather cricket
Patiala, May 27 (UNI) In the 9th Hot Weather Cricket Tournament, inaugurated here today,Yadavindra Public School (YPS) defeated DMW, Patiala, in a thrilling match.
Batting first, YPS piled up 211 for 3 in the allotted 40 overs.
Karan Kaila notched up a fine century. He was unbeaten on 100 when the YPS innings came to an end. Rajeshwar Singh scored 48.
Karan Kaila and Rajeshwar Singh were involved in a 147 runs partnership. None of the DMW bowlers were impressive and hardly made any impression on the YPS batsmen. I Yadav and Bhupendra Singh bagged a wicket each for 31 and 38 runsrespectively.
In reply DMW could score 197 for 6 in 40 overs. Anmol Malhotra scored 81, while D Gill was 51 not out.
For YPS, Karan Kaila took 4 for 24, taking away the match from DMW.
Eight teams, including two from Delhi and one from Haryana, are taking part in the tournament.
