Guinness record holder in trouble
Mumbai, May 27 (UNI) A photojournalist here who finds mention in the Guinness Book of World Records and the Limca Book of Records for possessing the highest number of vintage cameras, is facing charges of obtaining bank loan allegedly by submitting forged documents.
Dilish Parekh's relatives, including his brother and sister-in-law, had secured a loan of Rs 25 lakh four years back from the Clare Road branch of Union Bank of India, allegedly on forged documents.
In order to obtain the loan, the borrowers mortgaged a property that, in fact, does not exist at all. Dilish alleges that his signature was forged in the bank documents and he has been unnecessarily dragged into the picture.
The matter is at present before the Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunal (DRAT).
One of the borrowers has, incidentally, submitted an affidavit stating that the guarantor's signatures in the documents are not that of Dilish Parikh. But the DRAT has not taken cognisance of the affidavit.
