1051 cases settled in Haryana Lok Adalats
Chandigarh, May 27 (UNI) As many as 1051 cases were settled in the Lok Adalats held at different places of Haryana which included 26 MACT cases pertaining to death or injury arising out of vehicular accidents wherein an amount of Rs 33.17 lakh was awarded as compensation.
Giving this information here today, Mr Arun Tyagi, Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA) said that 1025 cases pertaining to other categories at pre-litigative stage were also settled.
He said that the Lok Adalats were held at Panchkula, Sonepat, Jhajjar and Ganaur and Rural Lok Adalats were held at village Hassangarh in Hisar district and Kunjpura in Karnal district.
He also disclosed that the next Lok Adalts would be held at Gurgaon, Rewari, Jagadhari, Meham in Rohtak district and Kosli in Rewari district and Rural Lok Adalat would also be held in village Sisai in Hisar district on June 2.
The Member Secretary said that these Lok Adalats had been proving very beneficial and useful for the society especially the persons belonging to the lower strata who could not afford to go and spend money in various cases in the courts.
