VHP Mahant decides to join BSP,invites Mayawati to Kala Ram Mandi
New Delhi, May 26 (UNI) Mahant Sudhirdas, the chief priest of Kala Ram Mandir of Nasik, where 77 years ago his ancestor denied entry to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar for being a Dalit, today sought to atone for it by joining the Bahujan Samaj Party.
Mahant Sudhirdas, who is also a Member of the VHP Marg Darshak Mandal, called on BSP, supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati and expressed his wish to join her party.
He told UNI he also invited her to visit the Kala Ram Mandir which had shut its door on Dr Ambedkar on March two 1930.
''By joining the BSP I want to rectify the wrong done to Dr Ambedkar by my grandfather Ramdas Bua Pujari,'' he said.
The Mahant said Ms Mayawati expressed her happiness over his decision to join the BSP and asked him to work actively for strengthening the party in Maharashtra.
During the meeting, BSP General Secretary Satish Misra was also present, he said.
Mahant Sudhirdas said though Ms Mayawati did not tell anything in reply to his invitation, she maght come to the temple in June when she is expected to visit Mumbai.
