Veteran socialist leader Chandrajit passes away

New Delhi, May 26: Veteran socialist leader Chandrajit Yadav died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences here last night after a prolonged illness. He was 80.

Mr Yadav was admitted to the hospital on May 21. He was undergoing dialysis for quite some time, family sources said.

They said his body would be flown in to Varanasi tomorrow morning, and then taken to his native place Azamgarh where it would be cremated around noon on Monday.

The veteran socialist leader played a long innings in the politics of Uttar Pradesh.

He had also been a Minister at the Centre.
