UP: Fresh notification on Ayodhya demolition case

Lucknow, May 26: Muslim clerics and leaders have demanded fresh notification in the Ayodhya demolition case by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati which earlier had been refused by the previous Mulayam Singh Yadav government.

Eminent Shia cleric and All India Muslim Personnel Law Board (AIMPLB) member Kalbe Jawwad and All India United Muslim Morcha chairman M A Siddique said their demand for fresh notification on Ayodhya demolition case is still pending before the state government and it would urge the new CM to consider it.

'' We will continue to press our demand on fresh notification on Ayodhya to unite both the cases'', both the leaders said in a press conference here today.

Claiming that the debacle of the previous Samajwadi Party government in the state was due to their failure to fulfill the promises made by Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, the cleric said the Muslims favoured Mayawati in the elections as they are hopeful that her government will do something for the benefit of the community.

'' Migration of the Muslim towards Mayawati shows that the community cannot be ditched by any political party for their vested political interest'', Mr Jawwad said.

Both the leaders, however, demanded from the centre to provide reservation to the backward Muslims under the SC/ST quota following the recommendations of the Sacchar and Rangnath Mishra committees reports.

'' Both these reports have said the condition of the backward Muslims are worst than the dalits'', they further claimed.
