Ultra-modern accident and Emergency center: Inagurated

Bangalore, May 26 (UNI) The remodelled and ultra-modern Accident and Emergency (A&E) Centre of Air Force Command Hospital (CHAFB) here was formally inaugurated by Air Marshal J K Gupta, AVSM PHS, Director General Medical Services (Air) here today.

Speaking on the occasion he said the casualty centre of the CHAFB was elevated to its status of Super-specialty hospital equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities designed to deliver quality care to the injured and those who required urgent medical intervention.

He said the Directorate of Medical Services had taken initiative to improve the infrastructure facilities in their hospitals across the country for the benefit of the defence personnel both in service and retired.

He also appreciated the authorities for getting the project completed well in advance.

The 800-bed super specialities hospital was providing comprehensive healthcare to the serving and retired personnel of the forces located in and around Bangalore. It was also a referral centre for all the service hospitals in Southern India, including Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Replying to a question Mr Gupta said the services of the modern Accident and Emergency Centre which was inaugurated today would also be made accessible to the Civilians in case of emergencies and disasters.
