Two more officials trapped while accepting bribe

Bangalore, May 26 (UNI) The Karnataka Lokayukta police have trapped two revenue officials while accepting bribe for showing official favors in Gulbarga district.

In a press release issued here today, Yadagir Lokayukta Police acted on a complaint by one Mahantesh of Jewargi against the two officers who allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 1500 for showing an official favor.

The complainent alleged that two revenue officers had demanded bribe to release compensation money after the government had acquired his lands for public purposes.

Police laid a trap and caught the officials red handed while receiving the bribe. They were produced before the district court.

This was the 90th successful trap case so far this year by the Lok Ayukta, the release added.
