TSYA stages 12-hour hunger strike
Chennai, May 26 (UNI) Members of Tamil Nadu State Yogasana Association (TSYA) today staged a 12-hour hunger strike demanding that state government should set up a State Yoga Council as per the instruction of the Centre.
Apart from hunger strike, the members also performed various yoga exercises to create awareness among the people about its beneficial aspects.
Talking to newspersons here, TYSA President Asana Andiappan said ''apart from setting up state "yoga council", we also urge the state government to induct qualified yoga instructors in colleges and schools as there were about 10,000 qualified yoga instructors in the state,'' he pointed out.
The TSYA members also questioned the government in their recent move to appoint physical traineers as yoga instructors in schools and colleges.
