TRS reacts sharply to TDP leader's statement
Hyderabad, May 26 (UNI) The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) today criticised Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Yanamala Rama Krishnudu's statement that TRS was facing a crisis and it could not achieve separate statehood for Telangana, saying it was the latter which was in utter confusion about the issue.
Talking to newspersons here, TRS MP Vinod Kumar and party spokesperson Madhusudhanachari alleged that the TDP leaders, who were earlier unequivocal in their opinion that the state should not be bifurcated, were now a confused lot about Telangana.
While the TDP had passed a resolution, favouring an ''undivided Andhra Pradesh'' during its last annual conference no such proposal is expected during the conference starting tomorrow at Tirupati, they added.
The TRS leaders said TDP supremo and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had earlier stated that ''an appropriate decision would be taken at an appropriate time on Telangana.'' They alleged that the TDP leaders were now afraid of even talking about 'united Andhra Pradesh.' Replying to questions about the split in the TRS and the formation of a splinter group by A Narendra, Mr Madhusudhanachary said it was common for any political party to face such challenges.
He said the TDP, founded by actor-turned-politician N T Rama Rao, split several times before it landed in the hands of Mr Naidu.
The TRS leaders said the party would not rest till it achieves separate statehood for the Telangana region.
