Security guard at INS Rajali commits suicide

Chennai, May 26 (UNI) A security guard at INS Rajali, the Naval air base at Arakkonam, about 100 km from here, committed suicide by shooting from his service gun around midnight last night.

Official sources said the guard, Mohan Singh (49), hailing from Punjab, was found dead at the ninth tower in the air base by another guard, who came to relieve him at 0000 hrs.

Since there was a bullet wound on his chest, officials suspect that he might have committed suicide by shooting from his service gun - a Self Loading Rifle.

He is survived by his wife and three children.
