New Delhi, May 26: The RSS has accused the ruling United Progressive Alliance of helping Muslims to hurt Hindus by proposing 15 per cent reservation for religious minorities in institutions of higher learning.

Strongly opposing the reports of Justice Rajinder Sachar and Justice Ranganath Misra for religious and linguistic minorities, the Editor of Organiser, the mouthpiece of the RSS, said 15 per cent reservation for Muslims and Christians will come at the cost of Hindu OBCs and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. ''This dubious proposal of Justice Misra, a former Congress MP, is more damning than Pakistan's Ghauri missiles aimed at a Hindu society,'' the editor regretted.

The organ also contended that Muslims and Christians deserved no reservation as they were not economically or socially deprived. They were the rulers of this country for centuries and had the huge financial muscle either through petro dollars and evangelical funds from numerous Islamic and Christian nations across the globe.

Educational backwardness among Muslims was a myth and the UPA was selectively squandering the poor tax payers money as if it was its leaders's ancestral treasure, the paper noted.

Ever since the UPA came to power, it was showing unconcealed urgency to promote the interests of Muslims and Christians. Many crypto-Christians were occupying constitutional positions and ministerships and the coterie was dominated by anti-Hindus and non-Hindus, the organ added.

These cypto-Christians who constituted 2.1 per cent of the population were denying the SCs of their opportunity by holding on to their Hindu names to take away reservation benefits.
