PCIL to set up greenfield plant at Boyireddypalli

Visakhapatnam, May 26: To cater to the domestic market, the Penna Cement Industries Limited (PCIL) will set up a two million tonne capacity greenfield plant at Boyireddypalli in Anantapur district, PCIL Vice-President M Ravinder Reddy said today.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the joint venture plant at Ras-Al-Khaimah in UAE was successfully running on 100 per cent capacity, catering the demand in Gulf countries.

He said the company presently caters to major markets in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Orissa, Maharashtra, Goa and Puducherry.

Mr Reddy said the company had already diversified into power generation business and had a gas based power plant at Mudinepalli in Krishna district with a capacity of 18 MW.

He said the company was setting up a Hydel power project in Karnataka with a capacity of 24 MW and a gas based power plant in Tamil Nadu with a capacity of 52.8 MW.
