Over 35 lakh MT wheat arrives in Haryana mandis
Chandigarh, May 26 (UNI) Over 35.24 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of wheat has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far this season.
Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said out of the total wheat arrival, the six government procuring agencies had procured 31.69 lakh MTs of wheat while the remaining 3.54 lakh MTs were purchased by the traders.
He said HAFED had procured 12.22 lakh MTs of wheat, Food and Supplies Department 7.68 lakh MTs, Food Corporation of India 3.33 lakh MTs, Agro Industries Corporation 3.14 lakh MTs, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 2.77 lakh MTs and Confed 2.53 lakh MTs.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the Sirsa district was ahead in the arrival of wheat with 6.48 lakh MTs, followed by Fatehabad 4.91 lakh MTs, Kaithal 4.35 lakh MTs, Karnal 4.33 lakh MTs, Jind 4.33 lakh MTs, Kurukshetra 2.92 lakh MTs, Panipat 1.52 lakh MTs and Ambala 1.02 lakh MTs.
