Metal prices rise
Mumbai, May 26 (UNI) Metal prices inched up today on lesser stock supply, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy and brass utensils and brass cutting rose by Rs 700 per quintal respectively on better buying support.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and zinc slab edged up by Rs 500 and Rs 300 per quintal owing to heavy industrial demand from retailers.
Nickel cathode also advanced by Rs 30 per kg on fresh demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,500, Copper utensils - Rs 30,900, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,100, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,500, Lead ingots - Rs 9,600, Tin slab - Rs 720 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,240 (per kg).
