MCI threat: staff and equipments for medical colleges
Bhopal, May 26 (UNI) Facing the threat of derecognition from the Medical Council of India, the medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh are being provided necessary equipments and adequate teaching and non-teaching staff.
The state government has sanctioned Rs 43.61 crore for purchase of necessary equipments to overcome the shortcomings pointed out by MCI during inspection of the medical colleges, official sources said today.
Similarly, the state government also sanctioned 3403 posts of teaching and non-teaching staff to fulfill the MCI norms. This include 2500 posts in nursing category. The institution-wise sanction of nursing posts include Bhopal medical college-500, Indore-600, Jabalpur-500, Gwalior-500 and Rewa-400.
Other posts sanctioned include: Professor-one, Reader-3, Assistant Professor-31, Tutor-2, Senior Resident-190, Junior Resident-41, Lab Technician-100, Lab Assistant- 150, Deputy Librarian- 10, Record Clerk-20, Documentalist-10, Stenographer-5, Stenotypist- 50, Store Keeper-cum-clerk 5, Statistician- 1, Codic Clerk-4, Record technician-2, Disease Coder-1, Medical Record Officer-2, Nursing Superintendent- 20, Deputy Nursing Superintendent-5, Assistant Nursing Superintendent-5, Nursing Sister-50 and Staff nurse- 2500.
The state government also approved setting up a new medical college at Sagar.
