MCI threat: staff and equipment for medical colleges
Bhopal, May 26 (UNI) Facing the threat of derecognition from the Medical Council of India, medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh are being provided necessary equipment and adequate teaching and non-teaching staff.
The state government has sanctioned Rs 43.61 crore for the purchase of necessary equipment to overcome the shortcomings pointed out by MCI during inspection of the medical colleges, official sources said today.
Similarly, the state government also sanctioned 3403 posts of teaching and non-teaching staff to fulfil the MCI norms. This include 2500 posts in the nursing category. The institution-wise sanction of nursing posts include Bhopal medical college-500, Indore-600, Jabalpur-500, Gwalior-500 and Rewa-400.
The state government also approved setting up a new medical college at Sagar.
