JD(U) MLA detained for violation of model code of conduct

Bagha, May 25 (UNI) JD(U) MLA Purnamasi Ram was today taken into custody here by local police for alleged violation of model code of conduct during campaigning in favour of a particular candidate contesting the municipal election to be held on May 26.

Police said Mr Ram was taken into custody when he was spotted while campaigning in favour of a particular candidate even after the lapse of the time allotted for the same.

A case in this connection was registred at the concerned police station.

The matter was being investigated, police added.
