Haryana officials begin talks with Dera management

Sirsa, May 26 (UNI) In the wake of the stand off between the Dera Sacha Sauda and the Akal Takht, the Haryana administration today started an official dialogue with the Dera management to resolve the issue over the alleged dressing up of its chief like Guru Gobind Singh.

Top level civil and police officials, led by Hisar range Commissioner M C Wadhwa, began a meeting with the Dera representatives at the PWD rest house here.

The meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of the failure of an all-religion delegation to broker peace between the two contending sides.

Meanwhile, Akal Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti in Amritsar said the all-religion delegation had made no contact with me so far.

Asked about the prospects of an understanding with the Dera, he said:''I will only be able to comment after studying the proposal if any comes before me.'' UNI
