Hafed brings procurement data online

Chandigarh, May 26 (UNI) Hafed has become the first procurement agency to bring the foodgrain procurement transaction data online up to the level of the commission agent across Haryana.

A Hafed spokesman said that though the efforts of implementing information technology in the organisation had been initiated earlier, foodgrains procurement being the main business activity had been taken up on priority basis.

The IT application, he said, had been on the level of capturing Actual data of Procurement and Lifting and Online flow of tentative data relating to daily Procurement and Lifting.

The spokesman said that Hafed was also endeavouring to make the applications web-enabled so that Management Information System or the Decision Support System was made accessible to all the stake-holders on 'Anytime-Anywhere' basis.

The spokesman said that the e-readiness level of the organisation as a whole had been greatly enhanced, enabling it to make instant analysis of data on different parameters which had not been feasible in the manual process.
