Govt appoints HS school teachers as gazetted officers

Puducherry, May 26(UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy said the teachers of the Higher Secondary Schools here were made gazetted officers and were given the power to attest the photocopies of the certificates.

Distributing the Integrated Permanent Certificates(IPC) to students here last evening, he said the arrangement was made to ensure that the students did not face any difficulty in getting their certificates attested.

Mr Rangasamy said the Government was keen that the students had all the facilities to take up courses of their choice without any problem.

The students from rural areas were specifically taken care of, as they should not feel let down, he said and called upon the students to make use of the facilities.

The Chief Minister said the Goverment would soon introduce job-oriented courses and added that trained teachers would be appointed on the basis of merit in schools to fill-up the vacancies.

The IPC contained in a document, the details of nationality, nativity, parents income and caste and community would save the students the trouble of approaching different departments.
