Dr MGR varsity inks pact with Australian university

Chennai, May 26 (UNI) Dr M G R University here has signed an MoU with the University of South Australia at Adelaide for faculty and student's exchange, and research collaboration programs.

As a goodwill gesture, the Australian varsity had offered six scholarships on the scheme called 'Endeavour UniSA Scholarships' to six students of B.Tech course, according to a release here today.

The scholarship provided study at the varsity in Adelaide, offering full fee waiver and provision for travel and stay expenses for one semester. The credits of the courses would be transferred to Dr M G R varsity to form part of the main course of study here. The students would proceed to South Australia in September, the release said.

The M G R varsity had also inked an MoU with the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom to conduct courses offered at the UK varsity for a period of 14 months from September at a separate modernised campus at Anna Nagar. The course would be moderated by the UK varsity and faculty would be drawn from the academics, working profession and R and D organisations. The students would be doing two semesters of study in India and one in the UK and the degrees would be awarded by the University of Sunderland, the release said.
