Debt ridden farmer hangs self in cremation ground in Punjab
Sangrur, May 26 (UNI) A debt ridden farmer allegedly committed suicide in Dhurkot village of Barnala district this morning, police said here.
The deceased identified as 36-year old Bhola Singh hung himself from a tree at the village cremation ground. He is survived by a wife and two children.
According to the police, the farmer who owned just one acre of land was being pressurized by his creditors to return the loans he had borrowed. The police after post mortem handed over the dead body to the relatives of the deceased.
