Congress bringing in fake voters: BJP
Mangalore, May 26 (UNI) Karnataka BJP unit President D V Sadananda Gowda today charged that the Congress party was bringing in fake voters and purchasing voters in Ullal where a bypoll was scheduled for June two.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the party would lodge a complaint with the Election Commission.
His party was collecting all information. The Election Commission should alert its intelligence wing and prevent such illegal activities by the Congress, which feared defeat, he said.
Replying to charges made by former Chief Minister and Chairman of Administrative Reforms Commission M Veerappa Moily during the joint press conference here yesterday that the Congress would not allow Ullal to become another state of Mr Narendra Modi, Mr Gowda said it was a pity that Mr Moily was ignorant of the development taking place in Gujarat under Mr Modi's stewardship.
Investment in all fields by various investors had touched Rs 4,61,835 crore with a projected employment generation of 13,26,387.
The state occupied the first place in industrialisation among all states with a total investment of Rs 33958 crore, he claimed.
He said several top industrialists, including Mr Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani, Kumaramangalam and R S Sharma of ONGC had commended the economic growth in Gujarat.
Mr Gowda demanded that Mr Moily should seek public apology for his false statements without knowing the facts.
