Budget allocation to Youth Service, Sports enhanced
Hyderabad, May 26 (UNI) A review meeting called by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy with senior officials of Youth Service and Sports Department today decided to increase the budget allocation to both Youth Services and Sports Department.
A release from Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said the budget allocation to Youth Service Deaprtment had been increased from the present Rs 70 crore to Rs 140 crore and Rs 20 crore to Rs 30 crore for Sports Department.
As per the release, the Prime Minister's Rozgar Yojana (PMRY), which was handled by Industries Department would be transfered to the Youth Services Department to give further boost to the programme.
At the meeting, Youth Services and Sports Principal Secretary S N Mohanty said the department proposed to set up joint venture units to use youth clubs as a platform to identify prospective Rajiv Yuva Sakthi beneficiaries.
More skill development training programmes would be taken up to provide employment to unemployed youth in private sector and certain arrangements had been made in this regard with reputed institutions like Dr Reddy's Foundation, National Academy of Construction and Madhura Coats, the release added.
